A Virtual Gathering of Men
Sponsored by The Men’s Council
April 18 & 19, 2020
In the In-Between
A liminal space is the time between the ‘what was’ and the ‘next.’ It is a place of transition, waiting, and not knowing. Liminal space is where all transformation takes place, if we learn to wait and let it form us.
This Virtual Gathering of Men is a fulfillment of The Men’s Council’s mission: Men helping men build better lives. It is an event to make available to men an opportunity for connection in a time of social distancing. We are facing a threat from a virulent virus that depends on close physical connection to increase victims. However, when we seek safety by “sheltering in place” we face a threat to our well-being from the isolation we then create for ourselves. Join us and help bridge the gap between isolation and community.
Plan to join us as we engage in ritual and ceremony, share poetry and stories, and find inspiration in music. We plan to engage with one another in both large and small group sessions.
April 18 from 10 am to 12 pm
April 19 from 2 pm to 4 pm
This event is free. However, in order to have an idea of how many will be joining the conversation we are asking participants to sign up. You do not need to sign up for both sessions. At the same time, as is the case for the retreat form the Gathering usually takes, participating on both days has the potential of maximizing the positive effects of connecting with one another.
We will be using the Zoom platform. Those who are registered for the session will receive the information needed to sign into the meeting.
